The OMRON CPM2A-BAT01 is a replacement battery unit designed for use with CPM2A Series programmable logic controllers (PLCs) . Its primary function is to provide backup power to the PLC's RAM (Random Access Memory) to retain critical data such as the user program (if not stored in flash memory), data memory (DM), and retain the current values of timers, counters, and work bits (HR, CNT) when the main power supply is turned OFF .
